Hair Restoration

Hair restoration can be one of the most important aspects of cosmetic improvement for men and women. With substantial hair loss, you can easily end up seeing someone different in the mirror every day. At Facial Aesthetic Concepts, we offer hair restoration procedures and treatments that provide remarkable results without disrupting your lifestyle or requiring any downtime.

Male pattern baldness is most often controlled by genetics and the impact on the hormones that affect the hair follicle, hair loss in women is more affected by inflammatory processes from the immune system in the background of Genetics and hormones.

In order for us to discuss treatment options we first need to determine potential causes for your hair loss.
Treatment options are then outlined which in most cases are non-invasive and involve medical therapies. With this approach we have been able to stop shedding, thicken the hair, and generate regrowth in the majority of our women patients.

Why Choose Facial Aesthetic Concepts?

Our variety of hair restoration techniques allows us to tailor our hair restoration techniques to our patients’ needs and goals. Hair restoration is particularly tricky because everyone’s body is different and the causes of hair loss can vary quite a bit. It’s important to the staff at Facial Aesthetic Concepts that we create a treatment plan that actually works with your body to start restoring hair with maximum effectiveness and minimal side effects.
Because we understand the different underlying causes of female pattern hair loss and hair loss in men, our medical therapies have shown remarkable, successful results by being able to treat the hair loss pattern accurately.  We use the latest proven hair restoration techniques to get the best results and ensure the highest levels of comfort.

Best Candidates for Hair Restoration

The best candidates for our hair restoration methods are:

  • In general good health
  • Have “weak quality” hair growth on their scalp and still functioning hair follicles
  • Have realistic expectations

Hair restoration is ideal for treating hair loss due to burns, hair loss due to cosmetic procedures such as face lifts, and hair loss in those who have been steadily balding for several years. Not all patients respond to all treatments the same.

During your first consultation with your medical provider at Facial Aesthetic Concepts, we will evaluate your candidacy and determine which treatment or combination of treatments will work best for you.

Our non-surgical hair restoration techniques include:

  • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections: PRP is a concentrated serum of your own blood platelets that is injected into the scalp to stimulate or "reactivate" hair follicles in the scalp over a series of supervised treatments.
  • Photomodulation: With photomodulation, low-level red light is used to stimulate scalp hair growth. We use a specialized LED to directly affect hair follicles.
  • Pharmaceuticals: We can make use of oral and topical pharmaceuticals to promote hair loss. This includes Finasteride, which blocks a certain enzyme that causes hair loss, and Minoxidil, a topical or oral product that promotes blood flow to hair follicles. We may also recommend nutraceuticals to supplement your diet and improve the health and growth of hair follicles.

We have found that the best results often come from a combination of these methods. Our treatments and therapies can be tailored to meet our patient’s expectations and physiological needs. Patients frequently end up with more natural feeling and looking hair by using a combination of hair restoration procedures rather than just one.

What to Expect

At your initial consult, our medical staff will learn what your goals are and carefully evaluate the status of your hair follicles to create the most effective treatment.

Hair loss is complex, and significant hair restoration is rarely possible with just one session of treatment. Even after hair graft procedures, we ensure that hair follicles “take” by doing treatments of PRP and Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO). Every hair restoration procedure we do is customized to get the best, most natural-looking results.

Your Hair Restoration Recovery & Results

Most of our clients are happy to return to work the day after any of our hair restoration procedures. We will evaluate the effectiveness of your hair restoration treatment in follow-up appointments to make sure you are getting the results you want.

We also provide a hair restoration regimen to follow after the procedure. This can include topical or oral treatments as well as meal supplements.

Battle of the Bulge

CoolSculpting vs. Liposuction

Of all the options for reducing unwanted fat and redefining your shape, CoolSculpting and Liposuction are both popular and effective, but for different reasons.

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive treatment (no cutting, stitches, or anesthesia) that destroys excess fat cells and prevents them from returning to that area. CoolSculpting can provide natural-looking contours to areas that include thighs, love handles, and stomach.

Liposuction is a minimally-invasive procedure that is performed by a doctor. Patients who choose Liposuction often do so because they want to lose larger amounts of fat in multiple areas with more precise results.

To determine which is best for your person, here are the 6 key topics you should consider:

  • Qualifications - Candidates for CoolSculpting are generally healthy, are within 30 pounds of their goal weight, and have excess fat they can pinch. Because Liposuction is a classified as a surgical procedure, candidates must be in good general health and have good skin quality. Certain medications may also disqualify some people.

  • Goals - CoolSculpting is great for eliminating fat in specific trouble spots. Liposuction, on the other hand, is a more comprehensive fat reduction method that can achieve more dramatic and precise refinements and improvements over multiple areas. Liposuction can also be combined with a fat transfer procedure to provide shape to your curves and volume to your butt.

  • Cost - Unfortunately, there is no specific, set cost for either CoolSculpting or Liposuction. CoolSculpting can vary depending on the areas you want to treat, and what your desired results are. CoolSculpting can involve multiple sessions and ‘maintenance’ treatments. Liposuction is a one-time cost and treatment. Final costs can be determined during your consultation for either method.

  • Safety - Millions of people worldwide have reduced excess fat through Liposuction procedures for over 40 years. Though CoolSculpting was introduced in 2010, it is FDA-Approved and is safe and effective, while providing great results.

  • Recovery and downtime - CoolSculpting recovery is immediate. Patients typically experience no downtime and return to normal activities immediately. Liposuction patients usually require 10 to 14 days to recover. It may be less if only a small area was treated, however, healing times vary from patient to patient.

  • Results - CoolSculpting patients can expect to see initial results in as little as three weeks but the average is two to four months. The final results of your liposuction could take anywhere from about three to six months to be fully visible, depending on your recovery rate.

Whether you choose CoosSculpting or Liposuction, you are likely to experience a renewed sense of confidence about your appearance and the the fitting of your clothing.

Growth Factors

The First Step to Radiant Skin in our G.R.A.S.S. Method

At Facial Aesthetic Concepts we believe that at-home skin care should be the foundation of any anti-aging regimen. Botox, Fillers and Surgery can do wonders for our appearance, but their full effect can be diminished if the skin isn’t healthy and youthful. As a Medical Aesthetic practice, we value the importance of taking care of your skin and maintaining a healthy skin care regimen. It is essential to prevent, protect and correct your skin with the appropriate products.

Developing a skin care regimen can be a challenging process. With so many products out on the market and on shelves, it is essential to know what the key ingredients are when building up your skin care regimen, why you need them and when you need to use these products. At Facial Aesthetic Concepts, to help you build healthy, radiant skin we use these 5 simple letters: G.R.A.S.S. Growth Factors used for rejuvenation, Retinols for renewal, Antioxidants for free radical defense, Specialty products for your unique needs and Sun protection for uv defense. Growth Factors are the newest, most cutting-edge of all these categories and can be difficult to understand. I’m going to delve deeper into this category and how growth factors are beneficial for the skin.

The main components of aging are a loss and decrease in production of collagen, elastin and moisture or hydration. The loss of these can make the skin appear thin, sallow and crepey. There are different types of growth factors that can combat each of these components by working with the body’s natural functions to enhance cellular activity, increase new cell growth, collagen and elastin production, making the skin act younger.

Think of your skin like a garden.
We want to grow new cells, collagen and elastin, but as we age and encounter free-radicals our soil (skin and cells) gets depleted and weeds (broken down proteins) start to accumulate and choke out all of our healthy roots and plants.
Using certain peptides, like those found in the Alastin products, is like weeding your garden, cleaning out all the bad stuff that was making an unhealthy environment and prepping your soil for optimal growing conditions.
Human and plant-based growth factors, like TNS and our C-stem, is like adding fertilizer or miracle grow to your garden. They make everything produce faster and better. Now we know one of the most important things plants need to grow is water, and our garden/skin is no exception. In the past we used humectant products, like hyaluronic acid, to bind water moisture to the skin, but that only works superficially.
Our skin will function best when we get deep, dermal hydration. Now there is a new line of super hydrators on the market, Senté, that goes beyond surface hydration to revive the skin’s natural renewal process. The Senté products have a Heparan Sulfate Analog (HSA) that is unlike any other hydrating agent. This ingredient is a sulfated glycosaminoglycan that is small enough to penetrate into the dermis and promote the ability of the collagen and elastin fibers to retain moisture as well as acting as a receptor for our cells to enhance the benefits and absorption of all our other products. It’s like deeply watering our garden and giving our plants more roots to absorb the water and nutrients!

With these three components your skin will be at it’s optimum youthful state and any other treatments or procedure results will be enhanced by the quality of your skin.
